My Approach

Humanistic and Integrative Counselling

My priority is to build a safe and trusting relationship with each client, as I believe this is a crucial part of the counselling process. As a humanistic counsellor, I listen empathically and without judgement, bringing genuine warmth and compassion to our relationship. I work in a person-centred way, which means that I will support you in exploring what you feel comfortable sharing, looking at what you need to help you feel safe and grounded.

I can also integrate counselling approaches according to your needs and what feels right and safe to you. This might include looking at the link between your childhood development and how this has influenced you as an adult, perhaps looking at the links between your current patterns of relating and your past experience. It may be that you feel very unsafe looking at the past, and instead we focus on your present experience, perhaps integrating mindfulness techniques to help you feel more grounded. We might also look at ways you might be able to introduce more self-care into your life, and exploring any obstacles to this.
